We must know the other country's culture before we go abroad, since there may be something different between the foreign country and our country. For example, different beliefs have different customs. Hinduism believes that cattles are sacred; Islam demurs at eating pork. We should respect every culture around the world. As an ancient proverb goes "While in Rome, do as the Romans do", otherwise you will become a undesirable person on the foreign land.
Once, I went to the United States with my friend,and we had a good tour there. But,there was something strange; the street was empty in the night. I could not even find a place for a night snack, so I asked the neighbor to figure out why they didn't go outside at night. This is a big difference between Taiwan and America. In Taiwan, we can find for a night snack anytime and anywhere. But when we were abroad, we must understand the customs.
However, the culture shock does not mean to exclude it. There are also many different cultural integrations; for instance Korean or Japanese programs are very popular in Taiwan. Our lifestyle will be changed slowly.For example, we eat sushi and kimchi. Sometimes you can see someone who wears a very hip-hop style on the road. These are the results of cultural integration.
It is a good experience to travel to difference countries. Countries of different cultures will bring us different life experiences, and these experiences are the wonderful part of the tourism. If you know more customs before you go abroad, you must have more fun and good journey.
